Had DND with my company yesterday night at Yishun Safra. I thought it would be a boring function...afterall, how exciting at my company be? The host for the night was hilariously funny though...with alot of funny hostings and games.... I had a good time laughing away...hahaha....
The food was okay too... not too bad! But it could be better... =D
The highlight of the night was the lucky draw though...everyone fell silent listening to the annoucement of the winners for the prizes starting from the 10th prize.
Guess what? WHAT??
I WON THE FIRST PRIZE....
WAHAHAHAHAHA.....!!!
At the end of the day, I took a free videocam home. I'm so damn lucky....
YAY! =D

Went for our faithful run today at ECP.... clocked a 2-hour run. Not bad... the weather was good...not too sunny...not too hot... wore my faithful cap and carried my small waterbottle during the run. The power drink mix is really not bad... only felt fatigue after i finished my bottle after 1.5hrs later. Perhaps I should really get the race belt...but it's so ex.... =X
Ang was feeling tired after the run too. Ahhz...feeling sleep during the bus ride back...ALONE! Dun wanna him to send me back as i know he is feeling tired too. Heh heh. Anyway, chiong back home to catch the show Meet The Parents.... Gee! So funnie...i love comedies! Wanna watch Meet The Fockers next time!!! =D
I should do a running log or something to track the number of runs and the distances of all the runs down so that i can do a monitoring or something about it.... just plain lazy to do it. Running is not something i wanna monitor... it's something i love doing. Hee.
Been reading the running book... realize something interesting. Do you know that if you wanna lose weight via running, it's better to run 40-60min, 3 times per week than 30min, 6-7 times per week. Wow! Which explains why i din lose any weight after running so much in the past.... which also explains why i'm running 55min x 2 on weekdays, and a long run on weekend.
Next week gonna do a 2.5 hr i hope. =D
Another informative fact i got from the book is that it's good to do stretching 3 times a week to strengthen the muscles... and it is not good to stretch cold muscles before a run... it will increase chances of injury... the best way is to do a slow jog or a quick walk before the actual run. After a long run, a good way to sooth muscle pain is to rub the muscles in a circular manner....
Not bad right? Learning new things about running everyday. Hee hee.
Love Ang. =*

I AM BACK!
Back from Sentosa to be exact.... it was an enjoyable night with Ang, chilling out with him at the jazz performance at Siloso Beach. I love the songs they performed... especially when it was a live performance. Heh heh. It is exceptionally wonderful to be huddling side by side with Ang, enjoying the songs and the ambienc there, drinking snapple. Bagus lei...
Anyways, I've removed the previous entry. It is too negative liao! No good no good.... must be nicer to Ang...cannot always complain complain!
So it's confirmed! Gonna buy the Polar watch for Ang as advance Xmas present... $400+ wor.... but i think it is worth it as he can use it to track his heart rate, timing and the distance he'd ran. Not bad rite...
Actually I am quite tempted to get the same design.... a watch which can track the distance ran... NOT BAD LEH....i always puzzled how far i've ran...always over estimate (to make myself feel better... to BLUFF....haix). But $400+ X 2 = $800+++ is too much to swallow liao. I'm juz a poor engineer who is stuggling to save money (i always wonder where all my money went to??).... anyway, Ang said he'll give me the other Polar watch which his sister won in a lucky draw (can only see heart rate..but cannot see timing concurrently leh...). Also not bad rite? Heh heh.
Need to save save SAVE. Haix.

Been down with flu for the past 2 days. Sigh.. can't believe my luck, i'm falling sick again ~!
After the major illness (1 week fever, 1 week flu+sore throat, 1 week diarrhoea)... the fever came back yesterday night... 38.0 deg. It was so unbearable as tears just welled i my eyes as i watched tv .... hugging my pillow for dear life and whining in agony. =( And i din get any comfort from anyone....enduring the agony in silence.
Had a terrible nightmare, kept thinking of figures, machines and processes at work. Urgh. Woke up countless times...wanted badly to take MC, but i can't claim mc since i'm still under probation. How sad.
Struggled to reach office... the cold air in the office totally swept me away... flu came at full blast!!! Still have to wear the clean room suit for hours. Went to see the doctore immediately after work... I dunno why, but it cost a whopping $44. Woah...cannot claim from office too... double blow....
Anyway, been reading a running book these days...wanna be more prepared for the coming marathon race. Here's the book.

Quite an informative book...got it from a friend who is a PE teacher... although the book was written quite long ago, but the content is pretty good. Quite a good book for novice people like me. =D
Hopefully my sinus can go away faster...so that i can start breathing through my nose instead of my mouth.... can't wait for this sunday's run at East Coast.
To Bernard: Cheer up! Dun give up on something you really like... just like the way you train for your races... never say die, right?

No work on this saturday... but boss said I am activated to work half day on sunday. Hur.... damn sad.
Anyway, no work on saturday really cheers me up... went Sentosa with Ang, applied the islander card and had a fun time having picnic and suntan. Initially the weather forecast said it would rain in the noon time... heng ah, it din rain in sentosa. =D
We are going back next sat for a jazz performance. Yippie!!
Another good news is... I NEED NOT GO BACK TO WORK ON SUNDAY. YAY! Dunno what's the reason, but boss msg me saying i'm not required to go back. Happiee...
Today is quite tiring though. Went running at east coast park with Ang... Initially i tried to keep up his pace, but damn, he ran so fast. In the end, we bidded goodbye and he ran ahead of me. It was a good run overall, the weather is really sunny and the wind is at its full blast. Carried a small waterbottle during the run as i wanted to test out the drink that's supposed to help the body recover the strength faster during the run. Well, it's kinda stupid to be carrying a water bottle since i do not have the race belt. Contempleting to get one... but... it's expensive neh. Still thinking...
It's a good 1.5 hr run! Yay! Gonna do a 2hr run next week... =( My poor legs...
Very amazed by the Roundabout Singapore event organized by NTU... the guy that came out 1st really earn my respect for him!! Running nonstop for 24+ hrs is really something to boast about. I start walking after running for 3 hrs. "-_-"

Taken on the day before NIE biathlon. Ang just yawned! Heh heh. I love him so much! =%

Just when i'm feeling quite sianz from work and the weekend feeling has yet to seep in, my odac friends decided to have supper at chomp chomp tonight.
CHOMP CHOMP !
Damn, i was really tired from work ... but the thought of going for supper with them really perks me up. Although meeting at 10pm was abit off for me... still need to take a bus there.... but well, it was all worth it. Good food, many laughters and interesting catch ups... Yeps, i enjoyed myself!
While waiting for Meizhen at kovan mrt station before we proceed to chomp chomp, i saw his visually-handicapped man walked up the escalator with this walking stick before trying to find his way toward the exit. In the end, he bang onto the walls several time with some difficulty getting out.
At that time i was on the phone with Ang...had to pause the conversation with him to help the visually-handicapped man get his way out of the control station by leading him by his arm. After that, i left him walking by himself because I dunno where he wanna go. In the end, he went walking toward the walls again and having problem finding the escalator up to the bus stop. In the end, I offered my help and led him up the escalator before saying farewell to him.
Somehow, i feel sorry for him. I wonder what happend that made his eyes went blind. I wouldn't know what i would react if i'm him.... i wont have the courage to even step out of my house.
May God bless him! Hope he gets to meet kind souls everyday so that he wont lose his way whenever he is out. =D
Yay! I finally get to meet Ang tomorrow. Can't wait to see him.... it is a long 5-day wait before i get to see him. Sigh. So near yet so far.

Feeling abit down because I had a mini dispute with my mom.... again. Firstly, it was over the dinner she cooked. It was really not appetising enough.... veges were dried fish was tasteless. She commented i should just go out to eat instead. She is being so mean.
I mean, i do have the right to comment on the food right? Afterall, i am just speaking the truth. IT TASTE REALLY BAD. At times, after a tired day at work, seeing the bland food on the table, i just dun feel hungry automatically... but still have to eat because i know my mom spent time cooking the food.
But.... the food just deteriorates with time. I dunno why she's just not focusing on her cooking. Even my dad is eating lesser, and munching more on cookies after dinner. =?
Then today, the dispute is about fruits. FRUITS. Such a simple issue and we still ended up not talking to each other. I merely commented that there are no more strawberries left, and she should buy them when she is free. She lamented that i should buy them myself after work and that strawberries are expensive... bla bla bla. Wah biang. So disappointed to be hearing that. The dinner is lousy, and the fridge ran out of fruits. Sigh. I hate going to supermarkets after work because I want to chiong back home to run... and sometimes i get off work late, and was totally exhausted to even walk back home, not to mention supermarket. Sigh.
I super dun like the way she puts her words. She makes working sound like a cup of tea. It is not loh. Haix. Not happy at all.
Not happy because the management of the company sux. Too many angmohs in the management level who are fakers, know nuts about the stuffs they are doing... smoke through their way and super act blur those kind... getting high pay and not doing anything. PUI! Then push all the blame to poor low-paid engineers who slog hard and get scolded for nothing. PUI!
Lucky for me, my colleagues are quite nice. Today, one of them volunteered to drive us to lavender because 2 of the new colleagues are going there to collect their new ICs (new PR converts). Not bad hor! The car we sat in is also not bad...sports car leh! Yellow in colour. Very enjoyable ride. :D
Weekends coming. Cant wait for it. Sigh. I hate disputes.

My precious weekend was spent working for half a day in the office, and watching boring shows on tv while waiting for Ang to come to my house. We ordered canadian pizza for dinner! (2 for 1) The meat lover and hawaiian pizzas are really nice... the amazing thing is that we managed to finished 2 regular pizzas within an hour effortlessly... =D
Knowing that I'd been sinful for being such a greedy pig, Ang said it was okie since we would be going for the long run on sunday. Yippie. Almost had ice cream after that.
So today, we went for a super loooong run. Yes, the army half marathon was finally here. Coincidentally, today is 9-11. One of the runners ran bare back, with the wordings "In memory for the 9-11 victims" on his back. That was really a very nice thought =D
This time round my timing was not bad... okie lah, not very excellent. I think I'm still far away from my ideal below-2-hr timing. But i'm contented with my 2 hr 15 min timing.
Had a good time talking to my running buddy and catching up with old times. Glad to know that things are going really well for him! Yippie! Thanks to Cleve for driving us too!
And of cos, to Ang for being such a sweet dear bf. Hee hee hee.
Two more weeks to NIE biathlon. Seh... i'm so not prepared for the swim.

I wish i can work in a photonics industry instead of the one i'm working in now. It's absurd.
Bought new running shoes! Saucony shoes are really not bad. Still will be using my old Asics shoes for AHM.

As what I promised myself in preparation for next week's AHM, I ran a 15km, finally!
Although now my knees and toe are painful (need new running shoes badly), it is all worth it. To know that I've covered 75% of next week's distance, and purposely not going for tml's Mizuno run, I feel quite good now. I'm finally prepared for the run =D
It is hard to keep up the running thingy going eversince I started work. Besides going home late every weekday, the constant standing and walking around the cleanroom is making my calves swollen. Hence, I can easily forgive myself for not running at all.
But, I do not want to fall into the category of working life = no life.
Neither do I want to spend my precious weekends resting and sleeping at home.
Yesterday I met up with 2 ntu friends and Ang for a steamboat feast. We went to the famous place at Golden Mile basement (din take note of the name of the place, too engross with food) and had a great time eating great food. It was really nice to see old friends again =)
After that, we proceed to bugis for coffee session...talked about work, about family (one of them is married with a kid), cars, future, etc. The part about career is the most scary. We all dunno where we are heading. Like what I told my friend, it is really stagnant to be living in sg -- After graduating from uni --> work --> marry --> buy house --> work harder to get promotion --> have kids -->continue to work like a slave --> worry about children's education --> working until 65 --> retire.
Enough of thinking. Gotto go shower. Going to collect race pack and go Comex in a while. =D
